Mardi Gras
  1. SoMa’s Annual Mardi Gras Parade is Saturday, Feb 9, with lots of music and fun. It starts at noon and travels along Main Street from 24th Street to 12th Street. Stick around after the parade for the judging of the Root Café’s Beard Growing Contest at Bernice Garden at Daisy Bates and South Main Street. Both events are free.
  2. Arkansas Symphony Orchestra is performing “A Night at the Movies,” featuring music from movies like “Wizard of Oz,” “Titanic” and more. Performances are Saturday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. at Robinson Center Music Hall. Kids can attend the Sunday show for FREE with the purchase of an adult ticket. And, members of the Youth Orchestra will hold an Instrument Petting Zoo in the lobby before the Sunday show.
  3. It’s the last weekend for “The Three Little Pigs and Three Billy Goats Gruff” at the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre. Show times are Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Visit the theater’s website or call (501) 372-4000. Read our review.
