A Perfect Weekend Treat: Visiting Loblolly Creamery.
by Meredith July 13, 2012Have you had a chance to check out the new Loblolly Creamery in the south main neighborhood? Featuring locally made, handcrafted ice cream, sodas, and other delicious treats, this soda fountain in the Green Corner Store is a wonderful place for the whole family!
Your children will love the full service soda foundation and the large store windows with a great view of the south main neighborhood. All of their treats are inspired by the seasons of central Arkansas, as well as the local artisans, and local farmers who supply their ingredients. All the recipes are created in house and contain no premixes, preservatives, or artificial stabilizers, so you can feel good about giving these sweets to your children!
I recently tried the salted caramel goat milk ice cream with waffle chips for topping, and it was rich, savory, and creamy. My husband tried the raspberry melon sherbet which was perfectly tart and punchy. And our children loved the chocolate sorbet. Their flavos range from varieties of custard to even almond milk ice cream–even ice cream sammies—with enticing names like “triple ginger chocolate chunk,” “Boulevard Morning Coffee Custard,” and “Buttermilk Honeycrunch Corncake Sammie.” If ice cream is not your thing, Loblolly also make their own sodas so you can treat yourself to an old-fashioned ice cream soda with a modern twist.
