Geocache find

All kids (and adults) love searching for hidden treasures. GPS Adventures Arkansas, a new exhibit at the Museum of Discovery, highlights the treasure seeking sport of geocaching.

In case you are unfamiliar with this sport, it works like this. A geocacher hides a cache and then participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and try to find the cache, or container, hidden at that location. Then participants share the geocache’s coordinates online.

Museum goers can enjoy the experience of geocaching, learn the basics of both traditional and modern navigation as well as the newest GPS technology. The exhibit also highllights the sport throughout Arkansas State Parks. You’ll even get to try your hand at the sport with GPS-enabled gear.

The Museum is open Tuesday – Saturday: 9am – 5pm and Sunday 1pm – 5pm.
