This weekend, the Immaculate Heart of Mary school in North Little Rock is hosting their annual Karnawal. The festivities begin at 5 p.m. Friday, continuing until 10, and Saturday’s hours are the same. Karnawal is a family-friendly festival celebrating the customs and culture of Poland while serving as the school’s largest annual fundraiser. There will be magicians, midway games and prizes, live music (including a real polka band!) and so much more. There will be a raffle drawing at 10:15 Saturday night, with the grand prize being $5,000, second prize being a 5-day cruise on a Carnival ship, and third prize is an Apple iPad. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased by contacting the Immaculate Heart of Mary School office at 851-2760 or Mike Sagar at (501) 519-0816. There will also be a silent auction benefitting the school.
Friday evening, a special Polish dinner will be served from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., with preferred seating for seniors 65+ from 3:30-4:30. Tickets for the dinner are $12 for adults, $6 for children aged 6 – 12, and free for kids under six. This includes all you can eat from the fantastic selection of polish foods, including pierogi, golabki, halushki, polish sausage, and much more!
