Music and Movement Class Every Friday at the McMath Library.

If your toddler or preschooler loves music and loves to dance you’ll want to be sure and check out the Music and Movement class every Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the McMath Library on John Barrow Road.

Class leaders play child-friendly songs and the lead the children in dancing activities including the “beanie bag dance,” various percussion-based dances, and every kids favorite, the bee dance, which includes running around in circles like a flying bumble bee. The kids get a great workout, run off tons of energy, and get plenty of time to socialize with other toddlers and preschoolers. It’s also a nice break for moms, who can sit back and watch their children have fun wearing themselves out. I’ve been taking my children for a few weeks now, and I don’t think I’ve ever smiled so much. It’s adorable to watch them try and learn the dances and beam with pride when they figure out all the moves. After the dance class we usually take some time to walk by the pond and botanical trail outside the library. It’s a great way to spend a Friday morning.
